In our opinion, Phil Wood creates some of the finest hubs available on the market.  The polished finish is of the highest quality.  You have to come in and see them for yourself because photos just don’t do them the justice that they deserve.

Phil Wood hubs have field serviceable bearings.  Two 5mm hex wrenches are all that is required to service the inner workings.

Also worth mentioning is that we now have a Rohloff speedhub available for test ride on a demo bike.  This is set up on a Redline Monocog 29er.  So you all can now try out your future hub before you buy!

These pedals are designed for either folding or break down bikes.  The unique feature of this pedal is that it does not fold.  Instead it removes the pedal completely from the coupling in two steps.  Step one, remove the safety clip.  Step two, slide the coupling towards the crank arm and pull away.  And you’re done.   A small section of the pedal stays in the crank but usually not enough to compromise the fold of a bike, and typically no more that a pedal that folds towards itself.  It is somewhat difficult to find folding pedals that are not plastic and these are a great option for a sturdy feeling pedal.

One of the questions that I hear most often is, how do I make my bike more comfortable?

One answer is to find the best riding position for the individual and emulate that on the bike.  The fact is that people are made differently and with that in mind we need to take into account many variables.  Whether there is a disability, injury, or specific needs for racing or you just want to be comfortable, we are able to help.  We stock as many different handlebars as one shop could ever need, so chances are that we have one that will work for you.

Seats, grips, and pedals are the riders interface points which also have a large bearing on comfort.  Varieties of saddles are almost endless; narrow, wide, soft, firm, leather, vinyl, cutouts, and cut away versions are all stocked.  Grips and grip tape come in varying thicknesses and materials so the choice is yours.  Pedals are the last contact point and again a variety of clipless, flats, and toe clips (single and double) are always available.

One area also regularly overlooked regarding comfort is tires.  Larger volume with high quality casings can increase comfort by acting as suspension while being as, or more, efficient than low volume tires.

Do you work on your own bicycle? Do you ever find that the products from your local hardware store just don't cut it?  We have many bicycle specific lubricants and cleaners that will make the job much easier. Use Bike Lust to shine up any old paintjob, Boesheild lubricant to create a waxy barrier to protect and keep your chain clean at the same time, and Tri-Flow to free-up and smooth-out pivot points, these are just a few examples of what we have to offer.
